There is a surplus of fitness programs on the market. And each system offers a different method for changing the way your body looks.

There is a surplus of fitness programs on the market. And each system offers a different method for changing the way your body looks.

But this presents a problem, how do you decide which one to follow through on? You might just throw your hands up in frustration.

So here are the elements you should look for in an exercise program:

1. Some form of weight lifting: Weight lifting is by far the best way to change the contour and shape of your body. Not only does it burn the highest amount of calories, but it also changes the physical structure of your body.

2. Stability training: A type of resistance training, stability training will help keep your joints healthy while simultaneously burning more calories. The latter happens because you activate a lot more muscle mass when you stability train.

3. Low heart rate cardio: Not all cardio has to make your heart rate skyrocket. In fact, if all you do is high intensity cardio you could end up delaying your results. This happens because too much cardio can reduce the effects you get from weight lifting.

4. High intensity cardio: This type of cardio burns more calories than low intensity cardio, but it comes at a cost. It can interfere with your resistance training. And recall that resistance training is the most important part of your routine.

5. Isolation training: If there is a specific body part you want to change, you have to exercise it directly. There is no way around this. So make sure you isolate it with your training in addition to doing total body exercises for the best results.

6. Sufficient rest intervals: Without enough rest, you will not get the desired results. Keep in mind that the majority of change takes place when you are resting. And if you don't rest enough, you will not be able to exercise hard.

Figuring out which exercise routine is best can be a serious challenge, especially if you are just starting out. So make sure you look for the above when making your decision.

A body that is out of alignment is a body that cant exercise efficiently. And if you aren't exercising efficiently you can't push yourself as hard as possible.

A body that is out of alignment is a body that cant exercise efficiently. And if you aren't exercising efficiently you can't push yourself as hard as possible.

Even worse than that is the fact that poor posture will wear out your cartilage.

So here is how to improve your posture for better workouts:

1. Stretch your chest often: If you have a desk job like the majority of the population you probably have a tight chest. And a tight chest will make it very hard for your body to stay aligned. Even worse, it will compromise the health of your rotator cuff.

2. Make your upper back very strong: Making your upper back strong will ensure that your upper body remains upright, the way it's supposed to be. You see, because of sedentary living many people have weak upper back muscles.

3. Don't sit down all day: Doing this will accelerate the degeneration of your posture via many different mechanisms. Not only will your shoulder begin to slouch forward, but the discs in your lower back will also degenerate at a faster rate.

4. Purchase a good chair: A good chair can save you loads of pain and discomfort. You see, ergonomic chairs are expensive for a very good reason: they work. So save up your money and purchase the best chair you can afford.

5. Avoid traditional stretching: Well, you don't have to avoid traditional stretching, but you don't want to make it your main focus. You see, there are much more effective ways to remain flexible. One such way is with foam rollers.

6. See a specialist: Your best bet here is to see a physical therapist. They will do a great job at keeping your body in balance with a wide variety of modalities that you can't do on your own. One such modality is electrical stimulation.

Poor posture can make exercise very damaging for your body. So make sure you take action here sooner rather than later because later never comes!

Knowing how to exercise and what to eat is important, but it's not the end all be all. You must also focus on your mental processes for long term success.

Knowing how to exercise and what to eat is important, but it's not the end all be all. You must also focus on your mental processes for long term success.

Unfortunately, too many people neglect the psychological aspect of getting in shape.

So here is how to increase your chances of getting and staying in shape:

1. Don't be vague: Vague goals will generate vague and weak behavior. If you want to succeed, you need to be as specific as possible with your goals. This is the best way to ensure success. So make sure you figure out the specific reasons on why you want to lose weight.

2. Measure your results: Not only will this keep you motivated, but it will also prevent you from overlooking the progress you are making-a common human trait. Now you don't have to measure everything under the sun, but you should at least measure your body fat.

3. Have a giant endpoint: If your goal is on the small side, your action will also be on the small side. If, on the other hand, you have a giant goal, you will have more motivation to generate giant action. This is the key to overcoming insurmountable obstacles.

4. Motivate don't flagellate: You need to pursue positive outcomes, don't run away from negative outcomes. If you punish yourself into action, you will eventually lose all motivation to keep on going forward. However, if you are moving towards a big fat prize, you are more likely to stick with it.

5. Use deadlines to promote precise action: The best way to only do the bare essentials for success is to use strict deadlines. This will prevent you from focusing on all the extraneous minutiae that can get in the way of reaching your endpoint as fast as possible.

Taking advantage of psychology and social conditioning in your quest to get in shape is essential for long term success. If you have the wrong mental approach it will eventually catch up to you.

A lot of people want to lose weight. Maybe you want to lose weight. And in response to this desperation, countless supplement companies have emerged offering everything under the sun.

A lot of people want to lose weight. Maybe you want to lose weight. And in response to this desperation, countless supplement companies have emerged offering everything under the sun.

But there is a catch. Said companies are NOT regulated by the federal government. In fact, they could literally put anything in a bottle and not get slapped by the FDA until someone got sick.

However, could it really be possible that most supplements are useless? The real truth is that very very few supplements actually work. And once you do find a supplement that works, you then have to find a company that can guarantee purity.

So without further ado, here is my take on certain supplements for fat loss:

1. Aminos. Body builders are in love with amino acids, they believe that they help with extra muscle building. And some believe that ingesting amino acids can provide extra energy for fat loss. Unfortunately, neither belief is based on sound science.

2. L-carnitine tablets. This one is a no brainer. Carnitine is not essential. In other words, your body produces all the carnitine it needs for fat burning. So do not fall for the faulty assumption that extra carnitine will get more fat into your cells for burning.

3. Chromium pills. There was some limited research showing the effectiveness of this supplement. And some research showed that chromium picolinate could be toxic, not good. I believe that supplementing with chromium will provide little, if any benefit.

4. Meal replacements. Often found in shiny packets, meal replacements should not be called meal replacements because a packet of powder will never be able to replace a meal in its nutritional entirety. These powders have limited applications and remember that solid food will always outperform liquid food.

There will always be a steady supply of products where there is money to be made. So please be cautious whenever you hear of a new supplement that offers some insane type of benefit. And never forget that whole food will always trump any supplement hands down.

There is a lot of advice and tips out there on how to lose arm fat. Some of it is good, some of it is ridiculous.

There is a lot of advice and tips out there on how to lose arm fat. Some of it is good, some of it is ridiculous.

Now because there is a lot of money to be made selling arm fat solutions, the good science can sometimes be taken for marketing hype, vice versa. So how do you separate fact from fiction?

And unless you have a degree in the field, figuring all of this out could be nearly impossible.

So here are some arm fat loss myths revealed to get you on the right track:

1. Calorie formulas are accurate. Do not assume that the number a formula gives you is the final say on how many calories you should be eating to lose arm fat. There are a lot of variables which influence how many calories your body burns. A formula gives you a ballpark figure and in extreme cases, a very inaccurate figure.

2. Arm toning should hurt. Eating the right way to lose arm fat does NOT have to hurt. In fact, your energy should increase if you do it with a sensible approach. What kind of approach? One with a ridiculous amount of vegetables, resistance training and slow carbs. All of these will actually increase your energy even though you're eating less calories.

3. You have to eat clean forever, or else. Your body will NOT be the same once you lose all the arm fat. You'll have a heightened ability to absorb and process nutrients. A lot of this will come from an increase in insulin sensitivity and an increase in basal metabolic rate.

4. Intense cravings come with the territory. This is not necessarily true. You do NOT have to suffer here. There are many things that will virtually eliminate your cravings. There are some loose leaf teas, for instance, that can completely blunt the drive to eat something sweet. Additionally, there are a plethora of artificial sweeteners that taste just like sugar. The only time these won't work is if you take caloric restriction to the dark side.

Hopefully this article sheds some much needed light on the truth behind arm fat loss. I know it can be frustrating with all the marketing hype out there, but be patient, test out different methods and seek out credible sources of information.

More than 50% of people in the US take dietary supplements to enhance an aspect of their health. Maybe you take supplements on a regular basis...

More than 50% of people in the US take dietary supplements to enhance an aspect of their health. Maybe you take supplements on a regular basis...

After all, the American public spends billions and billions of dollars each year on a wide array of pills and powders.

Unfortunately, a lot of what is sold to the public is under the umbrella of deceptive advertising. We are talking about fake pictures and ridiculous testimonials. Even worse, some supplements are extremely unhealthy.

Thus, here are 4 dangerous myths about supplements:

1. They don't have side effects: Look, just because the supplement companies market their products as natural does NOT mean there are 100% safe. In fact, there are many "natural" substances that are lethal. Also, remember that a lot of supplements are super concentrated concoctions of different ingredients. Thus, at this level, the naturalness tends to fade.

2. They are backed by valid studies: Most of the sexy charts and graphs you see on the labels and advertisements are made up. You see, the bulk of the data is performed by biased entities that are directly related to the supplement companies themselves.

3. They take your health as a top priority: There is a lot of money to be made selling supplements. And when there is so much money at stake, it is very easy for companies to lose sight of ethics. And the supplement industry is no exception here.

4. Word of mouth is reliable: Word of mouth is definitely convincing, but it should not be taken as the end all be all to a supplements efficacy. You see, the placebo effect is extremely strong. In fact, if you gave a sugar pill to 100 people, 40 would claim a noticeable difference!

I recommend staying on the safe side here. And the best way to do this is to only take supplements that have undergone peer reviewed research. You see, peer reviewed research is the closest we can get to the truth. And with the truth you will be better informed as to what decisions are right for your health.

When learning how to lose arm fat, your first priority should be to understand how the 5 major muscles in your arm work. There are no shortcuts here. You absolutely need to have an intimate understanding on how to properly exercise all your arm muscles.

You are probably cringing at this point. But I dont want bulging arms, you retort. In reality, you should not be worrying about this all too common myth. Before you stop reading, let me explain.

You see, glands in the male body produce sixty percent more testosterone (muscle hormone) than glands in the female body. This enormous difference will block your body from producing beastly man-arms. You simply do not have enough testosterone for this to ever happen.

When learning how to lose arm fat, always be receptive to new ideas even if they challenge common beliefs! And dont worry about all the pictures out there of fanatic female body builders. Mind you, they train about 4 hours a day and put synthetic testosterone into their bodies.

Too many of my female clients fear weight training because they do not want to look like a cross between a man and a woman. Please do not let the same fear keep you from touching a weight. Instead, here is what you should focus on when learning how to lose arm fat:

1. The triceps muscles in your arms. The triceps (meaning three) is comprised of 3 major muscles and accounts for sixty percent of your arm mass. To properly work all the triceps muscles, you have to isolate the long, medial and lateral head. A great exercise for the lateral head is press-downs.

2. Proper biceps stimulation. The biceps group in your arm consists of 2 main muscles and forms forty percent of your arm mass. It has a long and short muscle. Concentration curls with a dumbbell is a great exercise for the long muscle.

3. Avoiding calorie counting. Count calories and deprive yourself, and you will end up hating life. Once you lay off the counting and deprivation, all the arm fat (and more) will come right back. Focus on the quality of what you eat, not the quantity.

4. Eat high-quality meals. Ignore all the hyped up diets, all you have to do is place a protein, carbohydrate, fat and vegetable source in each one of your meals. Figuring out how to lose arm fat is not that hard!

5. Water consumption. Seventy five percent of your arm is water, only twenty five percent is muscle. If you dont pay attention to water intake, you are missing out on 75% of the equation on how to lose arm fat. Drink only distilled or purified water between meals.

Although it can be like walking through a mine field because of all the savvy marketers out there, learning how to lose arm fat is not complicated. If you focus on the 5 key points I have outlined, you will be on the fast track to getting rid of your flabby arms for good!

If you can master your metabolism, your flabby arm nightmare will go away. Increasing your metabolism is the most efficient way of eliminating the arm jiggle.

And don't get intimidated by the term metabolism. It simply refers to the amount of calories your body burns for basic functions.

An increased metabolism will have your body burning a surplus of calories 24/7. So even while you are sleeping, your metabolism will be hard at work burning off all that arm fat.

Without further ado, here are some great ways to fire up your metabolism:

1. Ditch bagged tea and drink loose leaf tea. Most women know that green tea is touted as a fat burner. What most women don't know is that bagged green tea is far inferior in comparison to loose leaf green tea. I always have a tablespoon of steeped loose leaf green tea every single morning of every single day. Dragon Well Green Tea by Prince of Peace has been the absolute best I have found thus far.

2. Get a bare minimum of 7 hours sleep. A lack of sleep will compromise the amount of muscle you gain from working out. And muscle is the number one thing that will fire up your metabolism. A lack of sleep will also alter the way your body processes carbohydrates. Make sure you get your sleep!

3. Have caffeine pills. Disclaimer: caffeine pills aren't for everybody. I personally hate them. However, some of my colleagues can take them all day and never break a sweat. The key here is to start with the lowest dose possible and gradually work your way up. These are definitely optional.

4. Eat spiced-up and hot food as much as possible. Don't expect an astronomical increase in metabolism here. But any little bit helps right? If you eat hot food consistently, day in and day out, your metabolism will increase. Trust me. Just think about all the people that sweat when they overdo it!

Metabolic mastery is one of the primary keys for getting rid of your flabby arm nightmare. Please make sure you increase water intake accordingly to compensate for your higher metabolism. Follow these tips and you will reach sexy arm stardom!

In spite all of the good advice on how to lose arm fat, way too many women are still resorting to crash dieting. Why do they do it? Simply put, everybody wants a shortcut no matter how extreme it may be.

In spite all of the good advice on how to lose arm fat, way too many women are still resorting to crash dieting. Why do they do it? Simply put, everybody wants a shortcut no matter how extreme it may be.

But the truth is that such guerilla dieting destroys the body's metabolic mechanisms. In other words, it shuts down your body's ability to burn off the arm flab. So here are 6 nutrition tips to follow so that your body (and mind) doesn't shut down:

1. Don't obsess over burning more calories than you take in. We're all busy and don't have all day to exercise or learn how to lose arm fat. You do not need to do both cardiovascular work and weight training to get rid of your flabby arms. All you need is a short (45 minutes or less) and intense weight training workout that will keep you burning an excess of calories days after.

2. Forget about logging your food consumption. Do this, and your robotic tendencies will make you want to pull your hair out. At one point you'll explode and feel the urge to burn your log in a fire. Ditch the log.

3. Balance your meals. No need to get crazy with your eating (please don't take acai!). Your number one priority is to make sure your meals have a vegetable, fat, protein and carbohydrate item. Trust me, this is all you have to do.

4. Don't practice calorie counting. Much worse than keeping a journal, because now you have become a full time accountant in addition to your other demands. The idea that a 3500 caloric deficit equals a pound of fat loss, is based on an outdated closed thermodynamic model. Forget about being a calorie counter and focus on general eating patterns instead.

5. Don't eliminate pleasure foods from your diet. The biggest negatives of pleasure foods are high caloric content and fast digestion. You can minimize both negatives by simply having a slightly smaller portion of the food and accompanying it with a serving of vegetables. The fibrous material of the vegetable will slow down the digestion of the pleasure food substantially and less calories (if any) will go to your arm fat.

6. One alcoholic drink per day. Perhaps it's the stress of modern day living, but way too many of my female clients are loading up on booze more often than not. If you drink more than one serving of alcohol per day, your body will greatly reduce its production of arm-fat-melting hormones.

Learning how to lose arm fat the right way should be a lot easier with my eat-right tips. Follow them, and the arm flab will come right off. It's not as hard as you think.

And remember that trying to get everything perfect in one shot is unrealistic. You will fall off the wagon from time to time. Expect this, and always get back on track as soon as possible.

Figuring out how to tone up arms can be extremely difficult if your source of advice is questionable. And unfortunately, most information on the internet is questionable.

Figuring out how to tone up arms can be extremely difficult if your source of advice is questionable. And unfortunately, most information on the internet is questionable. Thus, many women are completely lost when it comes to getting the lean and sexy arms of their dreams.

I know this is the case because of all the questions I receive on a daily basis.

But please don't blame yourself. After all, a lot of the confusion is created by savvy marketers. With endless products comes endless misinformation.

So here are some common misconceptions on how to tone up arms:

1. You should exercise every single day. Do this and your body will not recover properly. The end result? Complete burn out of the mind and body. You have to rest, especially if you're lifting weights.

2. One arm is stronger than the other, therefore something is wrong. This is completely normal. In fact, I've never worked with a client whose arms were equally strong. The good news is that over time this difference will equalize.

3. I should be able to do 15 repetitions for every set in very workout. This will surely lead to arm toning failure! There are no cookie cutter rules here. In fact, you should strive to experiment with a wide variety of repetitions for maximum effect.

4. If I get tired I should stop. Stop if you feel sick, otherwise keep on going. Bear in mind that when you push yourself really hard, your body secretes hormones that incinerate arm fat. There is no other way to get these hormones flowing.

5. If you're sore a couple days after exercising, something is wrong! This simply means that you had an intense workout-just what you need to do to tone up those arms. And keep in mind that this delayed soreness will decrease as you eat better and your body learns to recover faster.

Please steer clear of all the marketing hype out there. Stick to unbiased sources of information and learning how to tone up arms will be that much easier. Only then will you get the sexy arms of your dreams!
