The Denver Broncos are Looking Special
Few people thought the Denver Broncos would get off to such a fast start, but it happened.
The 2008 season was a disappointment - while the Broncos have started out well, their strength of schedule is one of the most difficult in the league. If the Broncos go 8-8 it will be a miracle. As good as the 09' season started for the Broncos, it can sink just as fast.
The Broncos entered the season with a head coach barely old enough to play the game himself, and somehow they've strung together a nice first two weeks of football.
It's true that the two teams they've played against so far have been pretty weak opponents. The Browns are a cupcake matchup, and the Bengals, even when an away game, would normally be considered a pretty easy opponent too. On the other hand, Cincy just stunned Packers fans with a win at Lambeau in week 2, so maybe the Bengals are better than people thought.
Whatever the case may be, I'd like to shift my emphasis to the Denver Broncos' defensive situation so far. This is a team that has only let up a total of 13 points through the first two weeks of the football season.
The Browns offense is pretty bad, but the Bengals have always been strong as long as Carson Palmer's around. With Palmer back in the line up, it opens up a ton of room for their running game.
The team's 27-6 win against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday was highlighted by a franchise-high four sacks in one half by Elvis Dumervil.
Many people thought the Broncos were a 4-12 or 5-11 team at the start of the season. The Broncos have been one of the most surprising teams in the league so far. The Broncos only competition in the AFC West is the San Diego Chargers, understandably. It will be very tough to keep pace with the talented San Diego Chargers over the course of the season.

NFL 2009 Season Will Be Crucial for Campbell
Which Jason Campbell is the quarterback Washington NFL fans should anticipate this season? The quarterback that is disliked and practically outside the sphere? Or is Campbell the 2nd version of Doug Williams, just like Clinton Portis had so powerfully indicated recently?
His performance is what the upcoming season is all about. Clinton Portis could end this season with close to 11000 rush yards for his career, aligning himself for Hall of Fame contemplation with nearly three or 4 great seasons remaining in his playing days.
It will not matter.
Malcolm Kelly can prove to be among the elite young wide receivers in the league this season, capable of drawing comparisons to Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson by year's end.
It will not make a difference.
Brian Orakpo may be the next version of Lawrence Taylor, wreaking havoc on the weak side of the whole NFC East.
It will not matter.
The only thing holds importance is that Washington wins a minimum of ten games, and that Jason Campbell is the most important figure in each one of those expected 10 victories.
Ignore the reality that he played half a season in '08 without an INT, it was all about the incredible Clinton Portis in the course of that run. When things went sour for the franchise, it wasn't Clinton Portis who shouldered the blame.
It was Jason Campbell, who wasn't the lone player with reduced production in the course of the blackout, but was the sole receiver of the sports radio and print media commotion that followed.
Most fans are in Jason Campbell's defense, and no one leads up that corner's praise more so than I do.
But from a neutral standpoint, there's a fine line between magnificence and calamity for him this approaching year, and nothing else Washington can do or is capable of doing will eclipse the stability he must bring from the first game and after.
