The Benefits of Professional Salon Hair Care Products…

by Jennifer Summers

If you pride yourself on having clean and healthy looking hair, looking after your locks is a top priority. So using good shampoos, conditioners and hair care products on your hair is important. But when it comes to price and the quality of hair care products, how do you know which hair products to use?

Cheap hair products available from the average high street store might appear to be better value for money because of their lower cost, while professional salon hair care products often appear to be pricier, with the average salon hair products priced at $20/GBP10, and a similar size cheap hair care product costing $4/GBP2.

When you weigh up cheap hair care products and professional salon hair care products and compare them on price alone, cheaper hair care products seem to be far and away the obvious choice, costing 1/5th the price of salon products, giving you what appears to be 5 times the amount of product for the same money.

When you look more closely at the comparison between the effectiveness and the quality of high street hair products and salon hair products, does the comparison end up in the favour of cheap hair care products, or do the cheaper high street products turn out to be a false economy?

To find out whether the premium brand salon hair products provide better value for money in both the short and long term when compared to cheap high street hair care products, we decided to test them to find out the real truth about hair products, and whether the high street products are as good a deal as they initially appear.

For our test we compared a 300ml bottle of professional salon shampoo and compared that with a 300ml bottle of your average cheap high street shampoo. To achieve the our required standard of cleaning, the professional salon shampoo needed just 10ml per application to achieve this standard, whereas the cheap high street shampoo needed 50ml per application to achieve the same standard of cleaning.

The high street hair shampoo, using a 50ml application, provides 6 applications per 300ml bottle (approximately). The professional shampoo, using a 10ml application, provides around 30 applications per 300ml. Hence the high street shampoo worked out at $0.64c/GBP0.32p whilst the professional shampoo came in at $0.66c/GBP0.33p.

Result: although the high street shampoo appears to be better value, in truth there is very little difference in cost compared to the professional hair shampoo. The professional shampoo is of much higher quality and more effective in cleaning your hair. Buying cheap high street hair shampoo is a false economy. Q? Why would you want to use an inferior product on your hair?

Review for the Human Touch HT7120 Massage Chair Recliner

by Steve Esquire

This product review will evaluate and show the salient features of the HT-7120 massage chair. The HT 7120 massage recliner is made by Human Touch. Human Touch is one of the larger American manufacturer's of massage loungers. This particular massage recliner comes with advanced features and with a sleek contemporary design. Human Touch also has integrated its patented massage system in the HT 7120. Let us take a look at the HT-7120.

We are first always concerned with the warranty of massage chairs. These are big ticket items and you want to be sure that you have adequate protection from the possibility of problems down the road. We always advise buying your chair from the top manufacturers because there are many cheap imports that promise the world and then just do not deliver. Human Touch is one of the best companies in the industry and has national distribution.

The HT 7120 model comes with a warranty the covers the following: 3 years of coverage on the chair's structure, 1 year coverage on parts and 90 days coverage on labor. The labor is factory labor and not in home service, which is an extra charge. This is a rather weak warranty for a massage chair in this class. We are surprised at the stinginess of the warranty from Human Touch on the HT 7120.

One of the more famous features from Human Touch is the flipping leg rest. The leg rest has a flat side and a calf massager side. You can actually flip the leg rest to use the calf massager and then flip it back to hide the calf massager. This innovative and patented feature helps to hide the fact that your recliner is actually a massage chair. This enables you greater flexibility in where you can place the massage chair in your home.

Care for a full body stretch? Just take a seat in the HT-7120 and hit the full body stretch button. The chair will grab your legs in the calf massager and hold them. Next, the chair starts the chair recline. You full body starts to get pulled which helps to decompress your spine. As you are stretched out, more blood will flow to your spine and you will start to feel much better.

Can you take some heat? The HT-7120 comes equipped with dual lumbar heat. These heating elements are precisely positioned to focus on the lower back to relieve aches, pains and swelling. If you have discomfort in the lumbar area, then let the HT 7120 heat your up and then massage you down.

Let us talk about the massage therapy of the HT-7120 massage chair recliner. The HT7120 comes with a 15 automatic massage which is adjustable for the upper back, lower back or full back. You can also adjust the comfort control to 7 different levels of intensity. You will also find 4 manual massage treatments. These manual treatments include rolling, compression, kneading and percussion. You have quite a few options to really target the areas in most need of attention.

One important element of the HT 7120 is its design. It is a sleek, contemporary looking massage chair recliner. Human Touch brings a designer's touch to the HT 7120 with its oval base that can swivel 30 degrees. This chair can compliment most any room in the house. If you are considering a massage chair in the mid range level, then the HT-7120 is certainly a contender worthy of your attention.

Chair Review: Sanyo HEC-DR6700K Massage Chair

by James Knolan

Sanyo massage chairs boast some of the most advanced electronic features to compliment their massage therapy. One of their higher end models is the DR 6700. This model is the subject of this review. We will analyze the DR6700K and point out its relevant features. We evaluate massage chairs in five key areas where up to 20 points can be earned in each area. Here is our evaluation of the HEC-DR6700K Sanyo massage chair.

Warranty & Customer Service: One of the first areas you want to check out with a massage chair that you are interested in is the warranty coverage. Massage chairs are complex machines and you just want to make sure in the unlikely event something goes wrong that you are protected. Let's look at the warranty coverage for the DR6700. The roller mechanism which is what provides the back massage is covered for three years. Parts and labor are covered for one year. Sanyo also provides you with one year of in home technician service. The parts and labor is rather short. The good part of the warranty is the 1 year technician service. We rate the warranty an 18.

Comfort & Ergonomics: Believe it or not some massage chairs are only comfortable to sit in when they are running. A massage chair needs to double as a recliner in our humble opinion. The DR-6700 cradles the body when you sit in it. The padding makes for a plush seat. The adjustable head pillow can be positioned to support your head well. The main functions of the chair are ran from the remote and it is in an accessible location. We give the DR6700 an 18 for comfort and ergonomics.

Ease of Use: This category takes a look at how easy the chair is to use for the average person. We have seen some overly complicated remotes which require too many steps to get the chair to do what you want. The remote control has 4 automatic programs which operate off one touch. Manual programs are a little bit more involved which requires a few steps to get the chair where you want. The intensity and width adjustments have a nice phased LED to show the power levels. Overall, we rate the Sanyo DR6700 a 17 in ease of use.

Key Features: There are two electronic features integrated into the DR-6700 that are both worth pointing out. These are the physical shape sensor and the stiffness detector. The physical shape sensor memorizes the position of your body. If you move in the massage chair, then the sensor detect such movement. It then adjusts the massage program to your new position. The stiffness detector is based on Sanyo's lie detector technology. It works by measuring your pulse rate and your level of perspiration. From there correlations have been made to areas of your body originating this increased stress and the chair will then target those areas. We rate these interesting features an 18.

Massage Therapy: The DR 6700 has 4 automatic one-touch massage programs. The programs are as follows: Stiffness, Recovery, Fine and Relax. There are also manual massage techniques which include the following: Grip, Shiatsu, Kneading, Tapping and Combo. Each of these techniques is specialized with a particular movement to loosen or revitalize tight and sore muscles. In manual mode, just select the intensity of the massage to be more or less invigorating or select the width of the rollers to cover the areas of your back that you need attention. Target specific areas by selecting the region which includes: neck and shoulders, lower back, lower body and quick course. You have a lot of good options to choose from with the DR-6700. Our rating of the massage therapy is 19

How did the HEC DR6700K do in our review? We scored this massage chair recliner a 90/100 points. Overall, the DR6700 is a very solid chair. It is comfortable and well designed. You get some interesting advanced electronic features with the physical shape sensor and the stiffness detector. We are somewhat disappointed with the short warranty coverage for parts and labor at 1 year. The massage therapy is very effective and the Grip massage is a nice soothing and relieving manual massage. If you haven't tried the DR6700K, you should compare it with Sanyo's top of the line model. The DR-6700 massage chair is one you should look at further in the luxury massage recliners.
