Review Of SA 5000 Massage Chair By Sanyo
Nov 30th
We present review of the Sanyo model HEC SA5000 massage chair. Our intention is to provide a massage chair buyer with an objective review and evaluation of a given massage chair. We use a 5 category system. Equal weight is given to each category. Each category can earn from 0 to 20 points. The points are then summed up to provide you with an overall score. The 5 categories cover the following: Warranty & Customer Service, Comfort/Ergonomics, Ease of Use, Features and Massage Therapy. This system gives us a disciplined process of evaluating a massage chair. We hope you find this helping in your search for the best massage chair for your needs. The Sanyo HEC-SA5000 massage chair recliner price is in the $3,000 to $4,000 range.
Warranty & Customer Service: The warranty coverage helps to reduce your risk in any electronics purchase. This gives you protection of defects from manufacturing of the product. The SA 5000 comes with the following warranty coverage: 1 year parts, 3 years roller mechanism, 1 year labor and 1 year in home technician service. We think the 1 year in home technician service is a good addition for Sanyo. We would like to see all parts covered for 3 years like the top manufacturers do. The customer service is good. Sanyo has a 24/7 call center which is technically competent. The SA-5000 earns a 15 in this category.
Comfort & Ergonomics: When one thinks of a massage chair, you think of comfort and relaxation. The ergonomics of the chair design needs to be comfortable and fit the users. The SA 5000 has a nice appearance with the triangular armrests. The armrests are well padded and comfortable. The side view of the chair is a little plain below the armrest detail which is a little industrial from our point of view. The chair is comfortable to sit in. The upholstered back pad is plush and soft to the touch. The headrest pillow can be adjusted to accommodate different users. The leg rest is one area of concern in that it cannot be adjusted or extended. Taller users may want to see how well they fit in the chair. This chair was originally designed for the Japanese market, so it is scaled for the target population. Our rating in this category is 15.
Ease of Use: Massage chairs have evolved to full body massage loungers. This is an excellent development, but on the flip side, manufacturers need to ensure that their product remain simple and easy to use. The SA 5000 remote control is fairly straightforward to use. It has 4 single touch automatic programs. You have a Program Memory button that memorizes the last few minutes of massage and will store it for future use. There is a side panel that contains the manual massage functions. The SA 5000 comes with a wired sub remote. This sub remote has the pulse monitoring system and has the program memory function and enables you to work the foot rest and chair back. This recliners earns an 18 in this category.
Key Features: The SA-5000 comes with some unique technology from Sanyo. They include their GK roller systems for neck and shoulder massage. They also have a stiffness detection system integrated into the massage recliner. The GK roller system can reach out over the shoulders. It performs a grip massage that is effective to relieve tension and soreness in the shoulder and neck regions. The stiffness sensor is based on lie detector technology. It monitors your pulse and perspiration to determine areas of stiffness in the body. This is then fed into the computer which then directs the massage for those specific areas. The SA 5000 earns an 18 in this category.
Massage Therapy: The SA 5000 comes with 4 automatic programs, 4 programs stored in Memory, 4 manual massage techniques and 4 massage courses for targeted relief of stress areas. You can select from 5 roller width setting and 5 massage speed settings. The 4 full body automatic courses include: Stiffness, Relax, Recovery and Fine. Sanyo incorporates its exclusive multi-point shiatsu massage for the legs and feet. The air system covers the lower body including the feet, calves and thighs. There are a total of 24 airbags. The air only comfort course includes a multi-point shiatsu massage is delivered to the lower body for a comforting lower body massage. There is also an ankle grip massage. The ankle grip massage is performed by holding a range of built in airbags around the foot. Our rating in this category is 18.
Overall, we rate the Sanyo SA-5000 an 84/100. The SA 5000 comes with many of the same technologies as Sanyo's high end version the DR7700. The stroke length of the back rollers is 28 inches compared to 31 inches for the DR 7700, but most of the same technology is in the SA 5000.
This provides superior coverage of the neck and shoulder regions. The warranty coverage is a bit light on the parts side and you may want to consider an extended warranty. The memory program is another nice feature enabling the chair to memorize a particular massage and its settings for repeat use. If you are looking at a mid range massage chair, this one is definitely worth a serious look.

A Must Read Before Anyone Buys P90X

Have you been hearing all about P90X lately, and wondering what all the fuss is about? This program, also known as Power 90 Extreme is a home exercise regime that boasts some very impressive results. The program comes from a strong history and background of other successful exercise programs. It uses a very specific technique to help achieve real results as quickly and efficiently as possible. In this program, you will target many different muscle groups in the body. The video is designed to be easy to follow along with. A nutrition plan, to accompany the exercise, is also part of the program. Some simple equipment is needed at home as well.
Power 90 Extreme was first released in 2004, and it has been estimated that there are about two million users so far. The program was designed by Tony Horton along with a company called Beachbody. Horton has been working with Beachbody for years, and previously made the program Great Body Guaranteed. Power 90 Extreme is actually part of the Power 90 series. This extreme version came about after users of the Power 90 demanded something that was more intense. A large advertising push of infomercials has greatly helped the success of the program.
The program is specifically designed to get some amazing results within a ninety day time frame, hence the "90" in the title. You can expect six days of exercise per week, with each day having a work out of a little less than one hour.
The results are achieved very effective due to a concept known as "muscle confusion." Basically, the Power 90 Extreme program confuses your muscles by continuously adding and changing routine, therefore muscles will constantly grow and develop, rather than simply plateau.
There are twelve DVD disks included. Each disc contains a new and different sort of workout specifically made to target a certain area of your body. You will see workouts focused on your back and biceps, your shoulders and arms, your chest, your shoulders and triceps, your legs and back, or also on specific styles such as yoga or plyometrics.
Although the workouts are pretty intense, they are at least easy to follow along with. On the disc, you will see the main trainer and motivator, which is Tony Horton himself. Behind Tony are a few background exercisers. Keep your eye on these people, since they will do helpful things like demonstrate the exercises at a lower level of intensity, or with different exercise equipment (such as with resistance bands rather than dumbbells).
Certain equipment is necessary, too. You will need resistance bands or dumbbells, a pull up bar, and a sturdy chair.

Some Common Questions About The Technology Of Massage Chairs
Jul 17th
Next time you are walking through the mall, check out one of those stores with massage chairs. These advanced recliners have a lot more inside them than you might imagine. Although, on the outside they look like normal recliners, they actually have a number of key technologies to provide full body massage. These different systems are controlled by a computer and software programs to give you soothing relief. Here are some of the technologies you will find in a robotic massage chair.
These advanced recliners come with a remote control. The remote control is an easy way to access and activate the features of the recliner. Normally, there is an LCD screen which shows the activities of the chair in real-time.
There are certain features which can be accessed with a remote control. Typically, there are automatic programs which are preset by the manufacturer. These enable you to get a full body massage with the press of a single button. You can also target specific areas by using the manual massage techniques.
One technology that is constantly being improved is the roller mechanism for massaging your back. There are a number of different designs which imitate the hand movements made by a master masseuse. Each roller mechanism has different capabilities and provides different sensations.
The roller designs are done in such a way as to mimic different types of massage movements. Most back rollers can perform kneading, tapping, rolling and a combination of kneading and tapping. This gives you a variety of manual massage techniques.
The roller mechanism contained in the chair back of the massage chair continues to advance with technology. It is common to find rollers that can move in three dimensions. This enables manufacturers to offer massage capability with deeper penetration and greater relief.
A number of technologies are being employed in order to make a body scan of the user. This is done to better customize the massage for each person. Typically, the scanning will detect the shoulders and neck. Some advanced body scans can make a virtual map of your back and determine the curvature of your spine.
There are some advanced sensor systems which can detect your position in the chair. If you move during the course of the massage, the body position sensor picks it up. It will feed your new coordinates to the chairs computer and adjusts the massage program accordingly.
Air massage systems have become standard in many recliners. This is a great way to massage the larger muscles of the body. Specially designed airbags are used to provide a compression style massage. The air compression system inflates and deflates the airbags to provide soothing relief.
There is traction or stretching systems that are now available in massage chairs. These systems can stretch the lower body, the spine or the upper body. Different techniques are used to hold the body in place while parts of the chair move to stretch out the muscles.
MP3 music players are another feature commonly found in these advanced recliners. Music is a universal way to relax the mind. Music is one of the best ways to get a more thorough and comprehensive massage. Most recliners come with headphones so that you will not have distractions from outside sources.
These are just a few of the technologies being integrated into today's advanced recliners. Robotic massage chairs continue to evolve rapidly with the pace of technology. Many massage programs provide very soothing and relieving massage thanks to these advanced systems. These robotic massage chairs are a great way to get massage treatments on demand.
