<p>For a couple of days you may have to have bed rest. Just after your injury, the muscles in the back may spasm as your body tells you that you need to be careful to prevent further injury to the back. During the first two days, a hard bed may give you relief from both spasms and pain.</p>
<p>After a couple of days, it will be time to get up from your bed and begin moving about, slowly at first. Staying in bed for a prolonged period lets your muscles become weak and healing will take longer.</p>
<p>A normal schedule works for most people to help to recover quickly. Normal walking and sitting are better than lying in bed or than starting to exercise too soon.</p>
<p>Until you have completely recovered from the injury, you will want to stay away from activities that are considered high impact. You can begin walking or swimming. These low impact activities will strengthen the back muscles. Stretching will help to increase blood flow, and loosen tight muscles. Warm showers may help to keep those muscles loose and make exercises easier for you to do.</p>

What I discovered was that lemons leave behind an alkaline residue in the body that his highly advantageous to those subjected to angina and acid reflux.</p>
<p>So I started filling up a jug of water and added chopped, fresh, unwaxed lemons to the water to infuse throughout the day. This I drank during the day along with lemon juice in hot water in the evenings.</p>
<p>The very first thing that I spotted was how refreshed I felt first thing in the morning if I drank this fresh lemon water first thing, rather than my common tea or coffee. At night, especially in hot water, it was also far more relaxing as an end   drink. I spotted my heartburn started to ease, the pain in my chest started to ease and my stomach sometimes started to feel a lot better. Obviously there were other contributory elements including cutting back on coffee and tea and making other dietary changes ; yet the refreshing and healing effect of lemon water was extraordinary.</p>
<p>I did tell the specialist doctor about lemon juice and its alkalising effect on the body ; she hadn't got any idea and just assumed that lemons were acidic : as did I.</p>
<p>So now I still have my medicines on the shelf ; all untouched. I no longer take anything. Obviously one must go to their own medical pro first before stopping prescribed medications and one should get advice before making any major dietary change ; For me though I have stopped purchasing antacids and stomach medicine and now buy bags of fresh, unwaxed lemons.</p>
