Vision Problems

It is said that spending time in front of the computer can be detrimental to your eyes, however, I used to spend almost 10 hours a day in front of it and have never had any problems. Some have started wearing glasses after only a couple of years of intensive computer use, but I've used it for over 10 years and my sight was perfect.

Since I was so proud of my perfect eye sight, I used to test it whenever I had the chance. I would either try to read the license plate of fast moving cars, or small texts, from far away. My friends, on the other hand, started warning me that my vision is bound to suffer, if I keep this up and not spend less time in front of the computer.

My parents were thinking the same thing as my friends and were telling me to do something else with my time. I decided to try jogging, and I looked online for the best things to buy, such as sneakers and an mp3 player. I also looked for the best time of the day to run. After having the necessary information, I finally started.

The equipment recommended online was great, and made jogging a pleasure. The Sansa c250 also helped keep my mind occupied, while running. Small and cheap, the player showed me that price doesn't mean everything. It even sounded better than my PC, which really surprised me.

Currently I still spend a lot of time in front of my PC, but I've also allocated a lot of time to jogging and other sports. My physical condition has improved drastically and I'm very happy my family and friends pushed me down this path. I like knowing that while I can still have all kinds of fun doing computer activities, I'm not wasting my health doing it. There's a fantastic feeling knowing that!

A Guide Explaining How To Choose A Laser Eye Surgeon

Deciding to have laser eye surgery is a big decision and it is important that you fully understand everything about the procedure. Finding a laser eye surgeon whom you trust is probably the single most important factor in being confident to go ahead and have laser eye surgery.

When it comes to choosing your surgeon, there are many factors that you need to consider to ensure you are choosing the right one. Having a surgeon whom you feel fully confident and relaxed with will ease your concerns about surgery. The following are factors to consider:

Word of mouth: Ask friends, work mates and relatives that have already had laser eye surgery about how happy they were with their laser eye surgeon. It is also a good idea to ask your optometrist if there is a particular laser eye surgeon that they would recommend.

Laser treatment consultation: Check when you make the appointment that you will be able to see the surgeon who is likely to be doing your treatment. Its fine having the laser consultation by an optician, but it is best to at least have some dialogue with the surgeon in question.

Qualifications: It is important to ask what qualifications your surgeon holds and any additional skills they may have. Make a point of asking if they have received specialist refractive training in laser eye surgery and ask if they are members of the royal college of ophthalmic surgeons. This means they have achieved the very best training.

Experience: This is the single most important asset to look for in a laser eye surgeon. An experienced laser eye surgeon is likely to be extremely competent and therefore capable of giving you the eye sight you have always dreamed of having. Check they have carried out at least 350 procedures in the past year.
