The Acai Berry has largely been heralded as the Amazon's answer to the fountain of youth. With the blend of antioxidants (containing more than ten times the level of antioxidants found in blueberry's) that help to fight the free radicals that are seen by scientists to be the main cause of cancer and the ageing process, and the high levels of fibre and vitamins found on the fruit make it seem like an immiscible gift from Nature.
The Acai Berry is found as a fruit of the Acai tree in parts of South America, largely in the Amazonian rainforest in Brazil. It's been used and adored by tribes for its medicinal properties for thousands upon thousands of years, and only recently has it been exploited by the West as a commercially viable weight loss supplement.
One of the major barriers to the Acai Berry from taking over the weight loss market completely and entirely is the fact that the fruit withers and dies within 24 to 48 hours after being picked. This means that special techniques to preserve the fruit are needed, which are often expensive and time consuming, and only a select group of companies with the adequate resources have been able to exploit the magnificent qualities for the public's benefit.
One way around this is the way in which companies are now starting to condense the natural properties, such as the antioxidants, found in the Acai Berry, into pill form. This happens to reduce the importance of another main complaint about the fruit, the bitter tasting quality it has.
As a result of its new pill form, the Acai berry is easier to incorporate in a pre-existing weight loss regimen. Find out more about using the Acai Berry in your diet by going to any of the trusty website.
