Three Cola Myths Busted
As most of us know, Coca-Cola is one of the most desired drinks in the world.
It tastes great and it's also very refreshing.
Thats why there are many of us around the globe who love it.
It's been around for a long time too, so long in fact that it's been the topic of many rumors, urban legends and myths.
While some of the myths are believable, others are completely jokes.
Since i'm one of those millions of people that love cola, on this page i'll try to clear a few of this myths.
Myth 1 - "Cola has Cochineal, a bug dye" - This is a weird myth.
You probably already knew that.
If you do not know what Cochineal is, let me explain you: it is an organic food dye made from a very small bug. Argh, oh my.. but know what, that's not in the cola.
Myth 2 - "Cola is so acidic that the tooth, nail, penny or little bit of meat, are left in some cola they'll dissolve overnight" - This one is more widely believed, who knows why?
You might have heard the story about the fly that wonders into the cup of cola and the next day it has been eaten away by the acidity of the drink.
Cola can eat away at organic materials including teeth, but it will never happen overnight.
Take for example orange juice, it is also very acidic and it'll dissolve a material in about the same time as cola would.
Myth 3 - "Aluminum from Cola cans contributes to Alzheimer's disease" - also believable, as well as false.
First of all there is no there was never confirmed that aluminum could potentially cause Alzheimer disease.
In addition the interior of your cans are lacquered to be able to prevent any contact between your drink, and the aluminum from the can.
There are lots of more obviously, but these are the ones that bothered me the most, knowing these I can now drink my cola without worry!
